1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using the Splitji mobile application, guest web application, or associated services (collectively, "Splitji"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the application.
2. Nature of the Service
Splitji provides an expense calculation and organizational utility designed to help dining groups compute individual itemized shares and initiate peer-to-peer UPI payments. Splitji is:
- Not a bank or non-banking financial company (NBFC).
- Not a payment gateway or payment aggregator.
- Not an escrow provider or custodian of user funds.
3. UPI Payments & Financial Disclaimers
All financial transfers initiated via Splitji occur directly between users using third-party UPI applications (e.g., Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm, BHIM) over the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) UPI network.
Splitji does not process, authorize, or reverse UPI transactions. Any disputes regarding fund transfers, incorrect UPI addresses entered by the host, or bank transaction failures must be resolved between the transacting parties or with the respective banking service.
4. Accuracy of Receipt Data
Splitji employs artificial intelligence and optical character recognition (OCR) to parse printed receipt items. While our systems are designed for high accuracy, machine perception can occasionally misread crumpled receipts or handwritten bills. Hosts are responsible for verifying extracted prices and quantities before sharing the bill link.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use Splitji for fraudulent purposes, to create misleading payment requests, or to attempt to reverse engineer, disrupt, or overload the application infrastructure.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Splitji and its contributors shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your access to or inability to use the service.
7. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of Splitji following the posting of updated terms constitutes your acceptance of the revisions.
